Frances Scott, RHIA Director of Operations - Camillus
As Director of Operations (Upstate) and Compliance, Ms. Scott is responsible for the overall administration and management of the full
scope of review programs and activities offered and run in the Camillus office, as well as the compliance program for the organization. Ms. Scott has been with the Foundation for over 25 years and has extensive experience in the dispute resolution review activities and the Medicaid Peer Review program activities.
Ms. Scott assists in developing and implementing organizational strategies, policies and procedures. She oversees the review activities of programs operated in the Camillus office including the Medicaid retrospective and cost outlier review programs, the external appeal/dispute resolution review programs, and other special review projects and activities the Foundation is involved with. Ms. Scott assists in pursuing new projects and in the short and long term planning activities. Ms. Scott is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and training of new staff in the Camillus office.
In her role as Compliance officer, Ms. Scott is responsible for the overall compliance activities in both offices. She assists in the development of policies and procedures; provides education to staff on confidentiality, security and compliance; performs audits and evaluations of the compliance plan to ensure adherence to the requirements; oversees disciplinary actions for any employee breach; responds to compliance issues or concerns and performs periodic assessments to ensure the policies and procedures are current and any
applicable changes have been made in accordance with changes to State or Federal statues or laws.
Ms. Scott received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management from Ithaca College. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator and is active with the local and State Health Information Management associations.
