Mark Finger, MD, FACP Medical Director
Dr. Finger serves as the Foundation’s Medical Director. His responsibilities include administrative decision making, recommending and approving policies and procedures as they relate to internal and external medical review programs. Dr. Finger oversees all aspects of the
internal and external medical review programs including operational aspects and clinical determinations that are made by our specialty clinical reviewers. Dr. Finger participates in the recruitment of new clinical specialists as well as oversees the credentialing of clinical
reviewers prior to their participation in review activities with the Foundation. He performs quality monitoring and provides education to our clinical reviewers to ensure decisions are made in accordance with nationally recognized criteria and medical policy.
Dr. Finger is a Board Certified physician in Nephrology and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He continues in active practice in the Long Island area. He has served as Medical Director and Chief of Nephrology for multiple hospitals in Long Island. He has received awards from the American Medical Association and the Kidney and Urology Foundation of America. He has been involved in medical peer review for over 10 years.
